Jan Berrien was born in Alkmaar, Holland or around that area. Jan Berrien's father was Clas Berrien. Clas Berrien came to Holland from France in 1615. Clas Berrien was born in Berrien, France. The town was named after this family. Clas Berrien was most likely the grandson of either Pieter or Jacob Berrien.
